59, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away in the early morning hours February 15, 2024 after a two year long battle with small cell lung cancer with metastasis to brain and liver, at The Waters in Princeton, Indiana, after being there for a week.

He was born in Athens, Tennessee, July 29, 1964 to the late James and Barbara (Lunsford) Jones.

Wayne married the love of his life on November 5, 1990, who survives.

He worked at Superior Ag in Princeton, Indiana, for over 10 years.

Wayne enjoyed watching Nascar, wrestling, and Tennessee Titians football. He liked to play games on his phone, spend time with friends and family, and getting coffee at the Marathon gas station near his home every day.

Wayne loved being social and never knew a stranger, and was always willing to lead a helping hand if needed. He was often seen out with his friend Andy working on vehicles across the street from his in-law’s home while also maintaining their yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jennie Poteet and James “JR” Jones.
